Roots... the source of life...
Do they not represent life itself? Are they not what makes us?
They thirst for water... so do we...
Maybe we cannot live with roots... and they can't live without us...
How many of these lines until I get my BAFTA...
I'd be ok with a small BAFTA or half a BAFTA too, just send it in the mail...
Anyway, all these thoughts and more... in Root Cause...

So yeah... this... i- *ahem* So yeah, this is my Global Game Jam 23 game. Its theme was "Roots" in case you read this in the post-apolyptic space year 3045 as part of your history lesson on the game developer turned dictator. I usually don't enjoy the Global Game Jam, but I thought this one was pretty ok. The game is nothing groundbreaking, just a dumb snake-take with roots, but I used it to try out some new music/drawing programs, and that's always fun.

Download
Root Cause for Windows.zip 2 MB

Install instructions

Windows:

Extract the folder and open RootCause.exe.

Dreamcast:

Burn the .cdi file to a CD-R using Padus Discjuggler 6.0 (https://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/burning/padus_disc_juggler.cfm).  CD-RWs will not work. Burn at slow speeds, if possible. Put the CD-R in your Dreamcast. If it shows -Root Cause executable- during the Sega logo screen, you did everything correctly.
